Every now and then I have the most intense dreams, that to me are so real until in the morning light I realize I was actually dreaming.
I have met people in my dreams, I met Ed's dad in my dreams who died about 17 years ago now. He was such a nice man, and that dream was so special to me because I really did feel I had met him, talked with him, and that he'd got to know me too.
One other time I dreamt that the phone was ringing, and when I answered it it was Ed's dad on the phone. He asked to speak to Ed, and in shock, I handed the phone straight over to him and in my dream he was obviously shocked to have a phone call from a dead person, and was very white. But after a while as they talked, and laughed together on the phone his color came right back, and when he hung up he was so happy, and contented.
I think he needed to tell Ed that he understood, and that he shouldn't feel bad, because he just knew.
I know some might say that our dreams are just a reordering of what we know etc etc, but sometimes I have these dreams that are so much more.
Last night was one of those nights. I dreamt that my Grandmas came over here to visit us all, and see our children. They died just after our first was born.
It was such a real dream, the details of the bustling of them unpacking, and getting over jet lag..
Going into their rooms and hearing them talking and organizing and calling out to each other.
And our children were so pleased to see them. They were running about all excited..
It was so nice...
Then as the dream progressed I was getting in the car, and being driven away from the house, and looking back and waving to them all, my two grandmas and our three children. All of them were so happy, and waving and shouting goodbye to me. Then I woke up. My eyes were full of tears, but I am left so happy...
Just thought I'd write it down.
Does anyone else have this sort of experience?

Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI occasionally have the most profound dreams that seem so real. My dreams often involve creatures. Not long ago I dreamt that I was flying over seas and oceans finding whales and dolphins. When they saw me they would jump out of the water to greet me. It was amazing.
The other night I dreamt I was looking at the night sky and there were three moons.
I love hearing about peoples dreams. Thanks for sharing yours.

My dream life is very intense. I usually have to wake up, to get rested. But I love it, magical adventures every night. I know all the stuff the "experts" say about dreaming stages...but they don't fit me. I start dreaming before my eyes close...and it goes full tilt till I wake up usually needing to get some rest. I've had a lot of animal (from this world and others) like Trish. I've been an eagle flying over the water, ridden on the back of a huge bear....and an elk in a herd of elk, been some kind of dolphin.....and it's really cool because these animals don't "see" or approach the world the way we do, so it's really like being another animal when I dream it. Dreamtime Rocks.

ReplyDeleteTrish, that dream of yours sounds great fun, and I'm so glad I'm not the only one out there who has these intense experiences. Jeff, I'm sure we all have some sort of connection with animals that goes beyond just liking them. I feel a strange connection to hares - don't know why, nobody really thinks they're useful or anything special, so I don't know where I've got it from. Your animal dreams sound amazing...
I love my dreams too, I really look forward to bed time.
